This weekend during the chaos I went to Affair of the Heart. It's a massive craft show at the fair grounds. Here are a few things I got.

Ghouls Gone Wild
This was a busy weekend. First we spent Saturday with Nanny's family for brunch, then we went to dinner at my FAVORITE place Sophabellas and then went to to the Ghouls Gone Wild Parade in downtown Oklahoma City. It was right at bed time and so we didn't make the entire parade but Max loved the part we were there for. Here are a few pictures of the parade that I could actually get.

Children's Day Out
As I told you all earlier Max had his first day of school yesterday and I couldn't be happier. I am one proud mama hen sitting here! I wasn't able to get off work to take him for his first day so Jeff had to take him all by himself. Jeff called me as soon as he dropped Maxwell off (as instructed of course) to give me the scoop. To my relief Max did GREAT! As soon as Jeff walked in the door he recognized a teacher from another class that he met the day we took a tour. He reached out for her and she took Jeff and Max to his class. Then he immediately reached over the door to the teacher and away he went to play. No good bye no kisses. Jeff was proud and told me he thought this was a good thing as I was tearing up at work. When I picked him up he was getting a diaper change and his shoes back on. He was happy to see me but I could tell that he had fun. He even slept for a little over an hour which I was really surprised about. Here are some things from his day. Keep in mind that Jeff didn't take the camera claiming he didn't have enough hands so I had to take this when I picked him up with my phone.
That is Maxwell on the changing table with Mrs Crystal.
Maxwell's "GREAT FIRST DAY" report!
This month they are learning about animals so this was the craft today.
After school we met my friend Kendall for a late lunch and she got Max a cookie for having such a good day at school.

Finger Licking Good!
The other day I took Max out for lunch and we had Chinese food. Jeff hates the smell and wont eat it so I took the oportunity to get some. Max LOVES Chinese food!!! I gave Max a piece of garlic chicken and he went to town on it.
Here is the before/during
and after...
A Visit to Dr Norman
Max had his latest visit with Dr Norman on Friday. I was frustrated and had some questions for her. She seems to be at a loss as to what to do also. We have two options left before she will send us to another specialist. The first is an EMG and the second is a biopsy. With the advice from the doctor we decided to go with the EMG since it may rule out the biopsy all together. Also the biopsy is technically surgery and there are less complications involved with the EMG. Basically Max will have electrodes all over and receive electric shocks to see how everything responds. We have been waiting to do this test because it is painful, but now we are out of options. After these tests we will probably go to Texas to Cook Children's or she said that depending on the test results she may send us to a muscular disease specialist in Dallas. Both are some of the best doctors in our region which means the wait list is 6-9 months out. Keep us in your thoughts as we keep trying to figure out what is going on. However, we did receive some good news too this last week. Max has now been accepted by New Covenant Methodist children's day out program!!! I spoke with the director for a while and she assured me that she thinks that typical and non typical children should be together and be allowed to play and interact together. Jeff and I are really excited for Max to get to be around other kids. I was pretty disappointed when Max didn't get to go to school with his friend Nicholas at St Marks, but now he will get to still be around other kids and just maybe he will pick something up from them.

Wreaths
I got into the Halloween spirit yesterday and started decorating the house. I also made a new wreath for the house inspired by the cover of Womens Day Magazine. The beauty of the one I made was that it only cost my $6 to make mine. I used electrical tape, foam wreath and candy corn that I found at the Dollar Tree and bought the ribbon from Walmart.
Since I was in the crafting spirit I made a Birthday wreath. It's made out of balloons and really simple. I like it though. Also made for just $6!!!
Zoo Trip!
Jeff and I took Max to the Zoo yesterday. We spent the morning oohing and awing with the Jaggis at all of the animals. And I think we couldn't have possibly picked a better day. It was gorgeous outside. Nice cool breeze and not to crowded. Knowing how much Maxwell loves animals we really should have taken him more this year. This was the first time though and better late than never! Here is Max while we were waiting for the Jaggi family at the entrance.
Here is Max in the petting zoo with Jeff. I'm not sure why but as soon as he touched this goat he literally scared the poop out of it. I have no desire to see goat poop again!
This is Maxwell at the lorikeet exhibit. Jeff held the food so Max wouldn't get attacked, but the birds were landing everywhere even on Max and he was in love and amazed.
Maxwell LOVED the sea lions. He kept say, "Wow, Oh Wow" and pointing. For those of you who don't know this is one of the very few things that Max can say and I love it. It's like music to my ears!
I love this picture of Maxwell and his daddy! I will admit though that Jeff hurt his back really bad the day before and took a pain killer before we left. (Don't worry I drove.) But I kept getting scared that he was going to drop him. Max loves it when his daddy carries him though.
The Browns riding the carousel!
Lastly Max was so tired that he kept falling asleep while we were leaving and fell asleep again on the way home. I think it must be a pretty good sign that he fell asleep on the way home from total exhaustion. We are looking into a Zoo pass for the family now that we saw how much he loved it.
Spolied Rotten!
I have learned recently how terribly spoiled my sweet angel has become. Since he is having so many troubles I tend to give in to him whenever he throws a fit and he knows it! I was making him choose between these two stuffed animals and look what he picked. That's right I gave him both!!! When I went to take them away he started screaming and I was embarrassed so I let him have both. I know bad mommy, but I'm really trying to work on not giving in to everything.

A Couple Minutes to Craft
I made some things for a baby shower for a co-worker next weekend, so Fawn if you are looking at this blog you better turn away now! Fawn's husband is a former marine and so I made a special tutu with that in mind.
Also made a pillow case dress.Originally the dress was for Sophia, but I tried it on Max to make sure it would fit since they are only a few weeks apart and there was no way it was going to fit. Now baby Tibbits gets it. Jennifer I swear I'll get something done for Sophia!!!
And last is a mini sewing kit that I put together I'm thinking about selling them but doubt there is a market for it. We'll see...
