Christmas 2009

Day 1

Merry Christmas from the Browns! I have been informed that it is unacceptable that it has taken a week to get our Christmas blogged. As many of you know with Christmas Eve came a blizzard. Some areas in the metro saw as much as 14.1 inches of snow. It was CRAZY! Max got to see his first real snow fall. He was in awe. I put his hand in the snow and he hated it. He was confused by this wet white stuff stuck to his hand. So needless to say the Richardson family Christmas on Christmas Eve was canceled and the next few days were spent playing catch up. It was a really nice holiday though.

Because of the snow and not going out on Christmas Eve we let Max open one of his gifts early. And as you can see Daddy loved the ball pit as much as Max did.

This was our quite evening at home went on Christmas Eve. It was nice being just the 3 of us. I made some chili and we all lounged in our pajamas.

Day 2
On Christmas I had to work until 2:00. So Santa made a late stop and the Brown house. Papa Mike and Granny Peggy came to celebrate the holiday with us.

Day 3

Finally the roads cleared some and the family was able to make it to Uncle Jake and Aunt Brittney's house for Christmas with my family. It was fun and we played Dirty Santa. Jeff ended up with $20 of lotto scratchers and I got a $20 gift card to Starbucks. At least I have my gift card, but all that Jeff won was $2 and a free ticket. Hope he doesn't spend it all in one place! In case you cant tell that is Uncle Jeff enjoying the gift that he and Andrea got Max. He has been affectionately named Leonard.

Day 4

Finally on Sunday Tina and Sharon came over after I got off work. We had lunch and opened gifts.

So now we are week after Christmas festivities we are still trying to recover. We officially have to many toys due to 4 days of Christmas and a ton of great memories with our second Christmas on the books.

The antics of Mr Maxwell Oliver!

Welcome back to the antics of Mr Maxwell. Yesterday Jeff got home early before Max woke up from his nap. About an hour later Maxwell started to stir awake and this is how Jeff and I found him. His poor leg squished in between the slats and his foot in the trash can. This isn't the first time for his leg to get stuck, but this is the first time that his foot happen to fall into the trash can. I thought it was an adorable camera moment.
This picture I took a few days before the last one. Oh how my little guy is getting so big and becoming a real little boy. Sitting with his daddy watching TV. Jeff has one hand on the remote and Max has one hand down his pants. PRICELESS!

Passing the Time

Max fell in love with this stupid flashlight, but it drove Herman CRAZY!
Ahh, a quite moment...
I don't know what was in the bottom of that basket. Max really wanted whatever it was though.
Max loves to share...
Especially an apple with his Papa.
It did take Max a little while to figure out how to get out from under that chair. More than anything his head is what got him stuck. While I have been out sick Jeff and I have managed to take a few pictures of what Max has gotten himself into. Since he doesn't walk yet he crawls over and into everything. This surgery has been a blessing in disguise because every time Max gets himself into something he has to figure out on his own how to get out of it.

The almost forgotten play date.

I forgot to blog the play date that all the kids had at the begining of the month. Max and Nicholas went over to Miss Kacee's house to play. As always the kids had fun. And Kacee and Nicholas put Maxwell to sham. They give Max something to strive for though. After my surgery and the holidays we will be hosting the next play date. We have some pretty big shoes to fill.

On another note, my surgery went well and I have been resting. I'm really blessed to have such a great family. Everyone has been helping out watching Max since I cant lift more than 10 pounds. My dad is taking Max tomorrow night and Tina is going to watch him on Monday. Plus some of the greatest people I know have been bringing dinners over so the boys wont starve. I'm excited to post all about Christmas and hope to have a TON of pictures.

Ho Ho Ho!

So things as usual have become somewhat hectic in the Brown house. Turns out that my gallbladder is only working at 6%. Needless to say that I am now going under the knife on Tuesday. Nothing to major and it's not like I have or ever have had a bikini body so I'm sure it wont be bad. I'm not really worried about the surgery just the recovery. The doctor doesn't want me lifting more than 10 pounds for four weeks after the surgery and Max definitely exceeds that. This is going to be interesting. I have a great family though and everyone is offering up help. Hopefully the house doesn't turn into a pig sty while I'm down for the count. I'm just trying to get everything I need to do done before Tuesday. One of the first things on my list was to make sure that Max got to see Santa. The line was short, thank goodness, and even though Max did not take more than a 30 minute nap today he was in a good mood. At first he wasn't sure what to think of this big jolly man with a beard. The first two pictures were of Max just touching Santa's beard and looking him over. Then came the Brown charm. I know this might surprise some of you, but Max inherited his daddy's charm. He just turns it on more often than his daddy does. In this picture I think he looks like me of course, but that smirk is all Jeff. I love my boys! Also while I'm on the usual topic of Max... he had his big hearing test yesterday and passed with flying colors! I guess he is his daddy in more way than one. Turns out he can hear me talking to him he just doesn't care what I have to say, ugh men. Also Sooner Start came out right on time and they are happy with his improvement. Jamie (his worker) says that he is showing improvement every week. He is pulling up on everything and if he drops something he makes the effort to lower himself down or bend down to get it. Yea Maxwell!!! At this rate I hope he will be walking by the end of February. Other than that we are all working and getting excited for Christmas. Keep Jeff in your thoughts while he is taking care of Max and me and I'll try to sneak in a blog of two while I'm off work.
