Happy 4th of July

Max likes to help daddy water the new tree.

I had so many great plans for this holiday. I'm proud of my town and love being from Edmond. Edmond loves the 4th of July and does it up right. On Saturday we woke up and planned to go to the parade in downtown. I thought that the streets wouldn't be shut down until about 30 minutes before the parade, but I was very wrong. The streets started shutting down an hour early. Papa Mike was with us and we tried FOREVER to find a place and finally called it quits. We called Jeff since he didn't want to go to the parade and went to get breakfast. So first event can be considered a miss. Then on Saturday night we had my dad over for dinner and a movie. I made a great all American dish... enchiladas! Well maybe not all American but definitely delicious! Then Sunday on the 4th I had to work a 12 hour shift and got off at 6pm. We had planned to get ice cream and go watch the fireworks. Mother Nature had a different idea though. It rained ALL day. they still did fireworks, but they didn't start until 10pm. And I had no desire to keep Max up late just to sit in mud in the rain. So I had great intentions of playing outside in Maxwell's new water toys, eating ice cream, going to the parade and seeing fireworks. Maybe next year will be the year to do it up right!
