What a list for a little boy who is not even 2 yet. As you may be able to tell Max had an appointment yesterday with his neurologist Dr Norman at Integris. The MRI showed NOTHING!!! Not nothing, but nothing important. Max does have a small spot on his brain I would say is about the size of a nickel. Turns out it is basically like a freckle on his brain. It's not the cause of the problems Max has been having nor is it the reason for his seizure back in January. He will always have it and it's no biggie. I was really positive that the MRI would show something. ANYTHING! So it's back to the drawing board. The doctor asked me several questions about my family and tested my reflex's. Dr Norman is now thinking that Maxwell might have something called Myotonic Dystrophy it's a form of Muscular Dystrophy. So lets find the silver lining, no Max doesn't have Chiari and no he doesn't need to have brain surgery. However, being realistic if this is Myotonic Dystrophy it is something he will live with forever. The symptoms vary depending on several things, however, the early it is found the more severe it tends to be. It can show up in all stages of life. Also many people have been asking why Max has speech problems then. Well I have not shared this yet but Max failed is last hearing test at the end of last week. We have to go back in to get retested on the 12th and go from there with that one. I hate waiting but that is the only option that is being given right now.

Maxwell waiting for the Doctor to come in.

  1. We're pulling for ya, Max! You're gonna be just fine! And your mommy is one strong lady so give her an extra kiss now and then.
