Maxwell aka Sneaky McSneakerson

I have told some people how Maxwell is really getting obsessed with "Steve" (his blanket for those who don't know.) Jeff and I only let him have it during naps and at bedtime, but somehow over the last week or so it has come to my knowledge that Max is sneaking "Steve" in throughout the day! I got home yesterday from work and he had it. I took it from him and tossed it in his bed at the back so he couldn't reach it... I thought. He was playing in his room, as you can tell from the destruction and I went to check on him. First I find him in his clothes hamper looking for a "Steve" substitute. I failed to mention that he has turned spare pieces of clothes into something he carries around if he cant find "Steve." Any hoo I thought that was adorable so I went to get the camera. Of course he had moved on and this is what I found!!! Max climbing on a toy so he could reach his blanket. Resourceful... yes, Sneaky... yup that too, made me laugh... absolutely! After he worked that hard I had to let him have it.

                                                                          Reaching...
A little more should do it.
Almost got it.
Success!!!

Also here is something Max has been doing a lot of. I was calling it a tripod stand but really it's whatever he feels like doing. Maybe this means he is close to walking.

Better late than never.

As promised a while back here is Max's birthday card that was on Sprout. We made it twice... yes TWICE! Call me a stage mom if you will my sister and Christie already do, but he made it. Ok I'll admit maybe the glitter was a little overboard. who knows though maybe that's why he made it *cough* TWICE. I'm already planning next years card now. I will warn you I had to end up taking video of it playing from the TV so it's not great quality but you'll get the idea. And no you aren't going crazy because at the end you will hear my main squeeze Neil Diamond singing. Aunt Britney this is why I couldn't answer the phone...sorry.

Health Update

I'm feeling sorry for myself today. I need to get out of my funk because I just received good news the other day. Max doesn't have Myotonic Dystrophy. Thank goodness!!! I was really worried about it. I spoke with the nurse for Max's neurologist Dr Norman on Monday. She says that we have run out of tests that are reasonable. We just have to wait until our next appointment on October 15th to discuss any more options. There is some painful testing that can be done to check his muscles and some more genetic testing. There really are not any other tests right now unless Max starts to show other symptoms though. It has been mentioned that we may need to take him somewhere like Johns Hopkins, Boston Children's or Baylor where they are specializing in something having to do with overall muscle weakness. Even though I received great news Monday now that the happiness and excitement has died down. I have started to worry again. Why is my soon not "typical?" Why is he not walking or talking? It may seem like I am being negative but I'm not. I want to know what I can do to help my son. I want him to be able to do things that other 2 year olds are doing. I want to be able to talk to him and understand him even if no one else can. Jeff and I are so blessed. We tried to get pregnant with Max for about 2 1/2 years and finally it happened when we stopped trying. Max is the best thing that has ever happened to me and the best thing I will ever be a part of. I just wish I had some answers. Now enough of the pity party. I'm ready to go home and hug my boys and live life to the fullest. Because Max is only this age once and I cant rewind it. I love him for who he is and the joy he brings to Jeff and I. And thank you so much to our friends and family who have been supporting us this entire time. You mean the world to us!!! Also a note to a new follower Laci. Your story inspires me and helps put things into perspective that things could be worse and I have everything to be thankful for. Thank you for reminding me of that. Here is Laci's blog if any of you are intested in seeing this amazing family.

Hobby Lobby

Of course yesterday I took Max to the Mecca (Hobby Lobby). I cant go more than a few days without going there. I had to pick up some ribbon and I wanted to check out the fabric department. I'm wanting to make Max a rag quilt so I have been looking for some cute boy flannel. Which by the way I am convinced doesn't exist. Any hoo, Max has been obsessed with hugging. He doesn't care if it's a stranger or a loved one. No matter what they make you feel special. I'm sure he made that bolt of fabrics day!!!

The Brown's

We had Maxwell's 2 year and family pictures taken recently at good old JCPenney. We have had better taken, but any picture with my little boy is great!

Big Helper

Today Max decided he wanted to help me put away the groceries when we got home. I was putting something in the pantry and came back and found Max like this. I even had time to get the camera. Such a big helper! Also Max had his 2 year well baby visit on Tuesday. Max is catching up he is in the 28 pounds and 33 inches long. My little guy is starting to not be so little anymore.

I wonder if he knows this is spray butter, eh he doesn't care!

Finally the BIG day!

Sorry about falling behind but life has been busy Jeff and I have both been working a ton lately. Maxwell's official Birthday was on Monday and we kept it pretty low key since we already had a party on Saturday. We had cheeseburgers at Johnnies. It was an easy choice since pizza and cheeseburgers are his favorite foods and we had pizza that weekend. Then we came home and opened the gifts that Jeff and I got Max. Like I said low key, but good. Here are a few pictures too.

Birthday (phase 2)

We had a little family party on Saturday for Max not much to say, but Max had a ton of fun! It was very low key we opened presents and ate cake and watched Max play. Here's what it looked like.

Also according to one of my best friends Christie I have become a "stage mom" with this birthday. I have been trying to get Maxwell's birthday on his favorite channel Sprout. Tomorrow is the big day and I have the DVR set to record all day!!! Here is the card I made to put all those other mommys to shame!

You win some, you loose some!

You win some and you loose some and Maxwell definitely lost yesterday. I got a call around lunch time yesterday from my mom who watches Max on Tuesday. She was frantic and I could tell she was about to cry if she wasn't all ready and then I hear Max screaming in the background. Max and Granny were going to meet Papa for lunch. Granny opened the garage door to start her car cooling down and went to get clothes to change him into. Well Max gets very excited when the garage door is up because he think that his mommy or daddy are home. While Granny was grabbing clothes in Maxwell's room Max grabbed the door handle. Fast! All Granny heard was Max screaming and she ran in to find Max with blood pouring from his face and crying that silent cry where they turn purple!!! I finally got home from work after picking up my baby boy a milk shake, Granny said he was hurting to much to chew and  refused to eat plus I think he deserved one. I asked my mom why the house smelled like poo. She told me he had been pooping all day and it may have been the diaper she changed before she laid him down. I said "okay" went to my room to take off my shoes and the smell was getting worse. The closer I got to Maxwell's room the worse it was. I could hear him playing in bed from the other side of the door so I went in to say hi and see his injuries for myself. I saw something else completely. POOP!!! It was everywhere! Max had taken his diaper off during his nap and smeared poop all over his bed, the music box, the bedding (including Steve), and him. It was bad, and not just kind of bad. At least my mom was there to help. I started the bath while she Cloroxed every rail and poo covered surface. It was a "soft" poo and I know that is TMI but that just helps you understand how it was EVERYWHERE! It was a rough day. I took these pictures a few hours later and no worries no poop to be seen. As the day went on the bruises are showing up more and getting darker. No telling what they will look like today when I get home from work.

The bruise on the side of Max's face starting to show up.

Not sure if you can tell in this one But he has a fat lip and it split from top to bottom. There will most likely be a scar, but surprisingly didn't need stitches. He also split his gums between his two front teeth. And across his nose is a good bruise started and a big red spot you cant see. He wouldn't really eat last night either so we may be on soft foods for now.

Crafts

I made this for a friend at work. She loves to knit and she has inspired me to try it now too. It's a little something to hold all of her knitting needles. Maybe not all because she knits a lot but definitely a chunk of them.
Also I have been working on my sewing/ craft room lately. Unfortunately I have to share with the dogs some what. The doggie door access is in my room so when they get into something they bring part of it in with them and into my wonderful space. I'm working on it though. I had to make a sewing machine cover to protect it from the doggie elements. This is a first attempt. Overall I like how it turned out but it's a little to big and I wanted a little more structure to it. Well see how take 2 goes.
